discord is going to roll out a new system of usernames which means you will have to have a username which has to be completely unique from any other username. which means a LOT of people are going to have to choose a new username.
if you, like me and many other people, hate this idea i suggest submitting a request form:
under “what can we help you with?” choose “help & support” and then when it takes you to the form, under “type of question?” choose “feedback/new feature request”
give them feedback. let them know their userbase doesn’t want this.

Fellas if you do write a report (in the Help and Support category -> Feedback) you have to check your email and respond to the automated message you receive so that your report actually sends.
After you do so, you will most likely receive something similar to this
Tear their reasoning down. Let them know that this decision is bullshit. But write actually well-worded arguments, look into what complications this update could lead to and write a comprehensive comment for the off chance that they actually read these. Emphasize money, point out that people will abuse the unique names system to get rich and that the update will lead to mass Nitro cancellations and a wave of dissatisfied users leaving! Emphasize that they will lose profits because of this! But structure your responses and do not spam.

“More than 14,000 people in England and Wales died with Covid after catching the virus in hospital.
According to official NHS data in England and Wales, 14,047 Brits died in hospital after they caught the virus following admission, whilst at least 69,337 people caught the virus only after having been admitted.
The data, obtained by the Mirror via FOI, shows the extent to which the virus ran rampant in hospitals throughout the pandemic, claiming lives.
Both figures are the minimum and the reality is likely much higher due to a number of trusts not responding to the FOI or not recording the data.
Data covering from March 2020 until August 2022 at the latest, 94 NHS trusts out of 209 responded to the FOI which showed how deaths cause by hospital acquired Covid surged during winter as hospitals filled up with patients.
The 14,047 people had all gone to hospital for something other than Covid and tested negative on admission.”
People who refused to believe covid exists are bad enough but people who know it exists and still think it’s a joke to spread it around just actually deserve to be dead, like morally I would endorse them getting splattered by a truck.
One time we had this guy covering a shift at the coffee shop and it somehow came out over the course of regular small talk with us that he was Armenian. He got this really tired distant look in his eyes and said “yeah, you know what people always think about when they find out.” Everyone nods and I figure we’re all on the same page so it doesn’t need to be said, and I’m about to move on when someone pipes up “the Kardashians!” He sighs and nods, and I, unable to help myself go “oh” and then very quietly “I thought we were talking about the Armenian genocide.”
Everyone is stunned for a moment, except for the guy who suddenly lights up and says, in a remarkably delighted tone of voice: “that’s the first time anyone has ever mentioned the Armenian genocide!”

I feel like people who say that playing Disco Elysium from Kim’s perspective would be like being forced to pick the normal, boring dialogue option every single time are forgetting that “Kim says something bizarre with a perfectly straight face and the narrative treats it as logical, sensible and sane purely on the strength that Kim is the one who said it” is literally a running gag in this game.
